Villa Ragusa Vecchia

A year ago, I had a terrible experience here. There was so much noise from the next room that it sounded like five kids were running around in our room. My friend had had enough and wanted another hotel, so I raised the issue with the host, who I think was the owner's sister. She wasn’t apologetic and said my complaint had made her guest uncomfortable. I asked her to seek a partial refund from the owner, and said we’d gladly cancel if that could be arranged. The next day, before giving us a clear answer about the refund, she said she’d already booked the room to someone else and we had to leave within an hour. She threatened to pack our things and leave them at the restaurant next door. When I checked the website, I saw they’d reported us as a no-show to get the full payment from the booking agency, while giving us no refund. We had to scramble to book another hotel within two hours. There were threats involving the police, and a man showed up telling us to collect our things and leave. A lot of other back-and-forth happened that I don’t even want to get into. This felt like shady practice, and I don’t think they deserve to operate.
