Hotel Paris

We checked in at midnight but lasted just 20 minutes before leaving for another hotel 5 minutes away. Out of more than 50 hotels across 30 countries, this was the worst we’ve stayed in. We genuinely can’t understand its 4-star rating. Cigarette and ashtray smells filled the whole hotel, including our room on the 6th floor. Even the sheets and towels smelled of smoke. The room was filthy, with hairs in the towels, clogged hair in the bathroom drain, and big stains on the carpet. The ceiling smoke detector was covered with a piece of medical bandage, yellow with age. That was shocking and unsafe. When we left in the middle of the night, the concierge acted as if he didn’t understand our complaint about the cigarette smell. If you sit in that environment all day, maybe you stop noticing it. There’s a casino and people smoke everywhere, but the smell spreads through the whole building. They canceled our booking after we left but didn’t refund us, most likely to stop us leaving a negative review. Fortunately, Booking still lets us share what happened. We’ve read that guests say they were asked to leave a 10/10 review in exchange for a refund. Don’t be misled by the photos or reviews. If you read carefully, you’ll see those comments too. That says everything. If you have any self-respect, don’t stay here under any circumstances. If you’re nearby, just walk in for a minute and you’ll understand.
