Hotel Villas Plat

We had a nice stay at Villas Plat, but there didn’t seem to be much to do, so we went into Dubrovnik centre every day. The villas themselves were quite nice, though the nearby buildings were derelict or still ruined from the war. The rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable, but the fridge was hot, so we couldn’t cook, eat, or keep water in the room. That made it harder to settle in, especially since the shop was closed from 10am-6pm each day and we couldn’t keep going back for cold water. The pool was closed for the first three days. Once it opened, it was absolutely beautiful, and the views alone deserved 5*. It may have been the only good facility, though, since the salon was closed and there was no Wi-Fi in the room despite it being advertised. I’d steer clear of the included breakfast. It was the worst breakfast we’ve ever had. One bright spot was a lovely restaurant called posyeden, about a 10-minute walk along the beach. Ubers to Dubrovnik are only around £10. It’s a nice hotel if you’re just using it to sleep, but not if you’re hoping to spend time at the resort.

I felt almost at home here for the first time. The rooms are more like small apartments, with a kitchenette, a cozy bed, and plenty of windows letting in natural light. The expansive property sits on a hill overlooking the bay, among olive trees, exotic plants, and flowering grass. There are a few inconveniences for people with physical limitations, but the setting couldn’t be more idyllic.

With three beaches easy to reach, great food, and staff who were very helpful, this location has a lot going for it. It’s surrounded by rich vegetation too. Greetings from Belgrade to the woman and man at reception!

We ended up here against our wishes for one night after being told our flight was overbooked. I’d never recommend staying here. The rooms are extremely outdated, with only a sheet to sleep under, and our balcony had two large active bird nests. The buffet food was repulsive. Wi-Fi worked only in the foyer, nowhere else in the hotel, including the rooms. There was black mould on our bathroom ceiling, half the room lights didn’t work, and the ancient TV barely worked. The salt water pool was the best part, but it had big brown stains on the bottom and the chairs had seen better days. Honestly, this place just needs to be shut down.
