Hostel Kvarner-All private rooms with private bathrooms

The person who checked me in said he couldn't guarantee a quiet stay because some guests were there, and that he couldn't do anything since he lived far from the hostel. 10.11.2024 Thanks for the manager's reply. Everywhere, Croatia included, people are expected to follow basic rules of civility so others can rest and the place doesn't turn into hell. A group of guests can socialize away from the dorms instead of talking loudly for a long time at 2:00 in the morning. From the manager's response, though, it seems they prefer to offer private rooms in situations like this.

The host was great, helpful and communicative, and even introduced us to other travelers. Our room was spacious, and the location was very good. I had a good time and rested well. The check-in information needs sorting out. The website said 3 pm, but after I booked, I was told it was 5 pm. I ended up waiting outside for someone to open the door, and another traveler let me in. Once inside, there was nobody looking after the lobby, nowhere to sit, and no place to leave luggage, so I left my bag behind the unattended desk. The lobby is much smaller than the rooms. The restroom was extremely small too. I'm about 5'5, and the toilet seat was right against the wall. I feel bad for taller people who have to turn 90 degrees to keep their knees from hitting it. Be aware of the check-in and checkout issues, and the tiny WC.

The owner was helpful, and the rooms were clean. The location is nice, around a ten minute walk from the city centre. The shower is a bit small, and the upper beds don't have their own outlets. There are extra ones on the wall beside the beds, though, so everyone can charge their devices at once. Keep the window closed at night, since traffic can be a bit loud if it's open.

Really helpful staff, comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. It's very clean and close to the centre. Recommended.
