Guests House Sanja

There’s a small supermarket just around the corner, and the guesthouse is in a quiet spot about a 10-minute walk from the old town and harbor. It’s well run, with double rooms and apartments, and free parking. The family were very friendly and speak Italian; their daughter speaks excellent German and English too. Our double room had a private bathroom outside the room, which worked out fine. Several good-value konobas, or traditional taverns, are within a 15-minute walk. Good value for money in Rovinj.

The owners welcomed us with a drink and shared information about Rovinj in Italian, which was easy enough to understand. The center is around a 10-minute walk away, with a supermarket and restaurants in that area. Our double room cost €55 per night, paid in advance through Booking.com. It had a balcony with a table and chairs, a clothesline, refrigerator, kettle, dishes, cutlery, cups, and air conditioning. The drawbacks were the bathroom outside the room and how extremely hot it was inside.

We had a spacious apartment with everything we needed, including a big fridge and freezer, washing machine, full kitchen, and parking. It worked well as a base for exploring Rovinj without a car, with the city center a 10-15 minute drive away. Sanja and her husband speak excellent Italian and gave us useful tips for making the most of our stay.

For the price, this was a great deal. The room was very clean, and the free fan was a nice touch. It also had a TV, kettle, cups, cutlery, refrigerator, and a balcony with a clothesline. Everything was well organized.
