Apartment Viksa with Jacuzzi

We left with Igor screaming insults at us as we backed the car out, after he threw open the door while I was changing and brushing my teeth. We’d said we expected to leave around 10 am, and it was 10:30. We were already taking bags downstairs and washing the dishes. He said he’d call the police over the extra half hour, then followed us outside, yelling. We stayed calm, asked what was wrong, and apologized for the missed call and crossed wires. We’d only been there 12 hours and had tried to leave the place clean. I didn’t feel physically safe during his outburst. It was a horrible end to our wedding anniversary trip and left us with a terrible last impression of Croatia. We’d driven from Dubrovnik through unexpected snowstorms and highway closures. Igor, the owner, had said we could arrive before 11 pm, and when we got there at 10:30 he was friendly and chatty. He asked when we were leaving for the airport, and we said around 10 the next morning. He said that was fine and that he’d stay upstairs, which felt a bit awkward and less private. In the morning he texted that he’d gone into the city and told us to leave the key in the box. The door wouldn’t lock, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work. We took our time bringing our bags down because it didn’t seem urgent. I washed the dishes we’d used, plus some that were already dirty when we arrived, and gathered the used towels in the bathroom for the cleaner. We followed his instructions for closing the hot tub, left the place as clean as we could, and even took the trash with us. While I was doing the dishes and my husband was carrying bags, Igor apparently called or messaged, but we missed it with our hands full. He then came over and started shouting. He said another guest was arriving at 4 pm and that the cleaner had been waiting for an hour. The cleaner could have knocked to let us know, but it shouldn’t take more than five hours to clean a small place. The photos gave a misleading impression. The view is only there outside winter, and otherwise you see plastic on the windows. The fairy lights shown in the pictures didn’t work either, so the place was more ordinary than it looked. It’s a small flat with a hot tub on a deck, in a remote location. Igor bragged about having traveled to seven continents, but showed no manners.
