Hotel Panonija

The hotel smells like an ashtray because the smoking area is right by the entrance, so you walk straight into cigarette smoke. It’s really unpleasant if you don’t smoke. Cleaning was poor, the walls were wet, and there was a bad smell.

The bed is extra soft, and everything in the room is clean and comfortable.

The restaurant staff were kind and nice, but the hotel felt like going back to the 80s. The bathroom sink and the electrical socket above the bed were broken. Breakfast was missing several things, with no water and only a few fruit juices. At departure, one receptionist was rude and impolite, saying he didn’t care if guests forgot their IDs because “it’s their job to ask them back.” The woman from accounting was unbelievable, yelling and being rude on a phone call because we hadn’t provided her with the order form number, even though the service had been paid in advance. What a pity this is the only hotel in Sisak.

The location is fine, the coffee and cakes are good, and the service was at its best. Breakfast was the same each day, though, and the inside feels like the communist era. Some rooms still show traces of the earthquake.
