We’d happily stay here again. The apartment is roomy and comfortable, with a good bed and fantastic air conditioning, which really mattered in August. The shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi worked fine in the bedroom, though it was a bit inconsistent. We enjoyed the courtyard bar’s live music from the window in the evenings. It finished at 11pm, and we could sip local wine away from the crowds. In the morning, coffee by that same window came with a view of the palace courtyard before it got busy. You can’t beat the location in the heart of Diocletian’s Palace.

Do not stay here. At 7:30am, someone knocked and told me I had to leave by 10 because another guest was coming. I showed my reservation, but she still said I had to go. I was forced out a day early and left to figure out what to do next. I’ve traveled extensively and this has never happened to me before. The room was noisy too, so don’t expect much sleep. A terrible situation.

It’s mostly a courtyard framed by historic walls and columns, linked to other lively places. Street singers often come through, adding to the already magical feel. There’s such a vibe here, you could spend hours and still feel like it wasn’t enough.

Your apartment is right at the center of Diocletian’s palace, where its two main roads cross. The Grisogono palace is a gothic palace within the larger ancient palace. The Grisogono noble family is the only noble family in Split to have survived and kept the house as their property to this day. The apartment inside has a four-star rating, but I’d give it five.
