A real plus for families is the indoor pool. The room looked nice and was comfortable, and the location and views are great if you want to be close to the sea and beachwalk. One thing I noticed was that the temperature is controlled centrally, so there’s no way to turn it down except by opening a window. Food isn’t their strong point, but you can get by.

I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the staff and other workers were, including the bartenders and waiters. The place is nicely decorated, classy without being pricey, tidy, and warm. It’s a great hotel in Znjan, a well-known part of Split, beside the famous beach, which is nearly finished but always under construction.

The nearby beach and the sauna and spa were enjoyable and well maintained. The hotel’s service, though, was disappointing. Staff seemed unwelcoming and sometimes downright rude. The lunch buffet costs €40 per person, but the quality and attention to dietary needs didn’t live up to expectations. There seemed to be little consideration for food allergies. Prices across the hotel felt very high for the service and amenities on offer.

We had a really hard time on our first day at Amphora Hotel with our child. Although we were supposed to arrive in the morning, they only let us in at 3 p.m. We weren’t happy with the stay at all. There was no shampoo in the room, and when we asked for some, it didn’t arrive until the next day. Housekeeping was very poor, and the staff behaved badly. We won’t go back.
