The villa's exterior may not look appealing, but inside the apartment is wonderful and very modern. It was extremely comfortable and perfect for two people, and the air conditioning is essential in summer. There's also direct access to a shared swimming area by the sea.

The room itself was nice and really clean, and the location was very good, with a short walk to the beach and Riva. It's not a bad place, just neglected, though it has great potential. For pictures and videos, visit Facebook @croatianadventures.

The garden runs down to the sea, and the apartment is on the ground floor of a beautiful renaissance villa. It's a great base for Split, about 20 minutes on foot from the city center and five minutes from the beach. If you like cats, there are lots of them, and they're very cute.

This building has a film connection: in 1965, a scene from Winnetou - Part 3 was shot outside at the rear of the building, by the beach. In the scene, Old Shatterhand, the hero from Karl May's books, pursues a bandit who wanted to kill him and Winnetou with dynamite in a quarry.
