My money is still being held by the bank, and I still don't know if I'll have anywhere to stay when I travel in 10 days. I booked through Booking.com, then got an email and a Booking.com message that very same morning saying the accommodation was canceled due to operational problems. But the booking still showed as confirmed on Booking.com. Booking.com told me I could ask the accommodation for a free cancellation, since they had enabled that option, even though it wasn't available when I made the booking. I sent the request and was told the accommodation should reply within 24 hours. That time has passed with no response. I've also emailed them and messaged them through Booking.com chat, but I'm still not hearing back. I wouldn't recommend booking here.
