B Gold Luxury Rooms

The only real plus was being about a 20-minute walk from the beach. Otherwise, I’d give this place a 1, not a 2. I booked two months ahead for €170 including taxes, then canceled and rebooked a few days before the trip. That brought the cost down to €120, still far too much for what we got. Check-in started at 3:00 PM and checkout was 10:00 AM. I arrived at 10:00 AM and could leave my suitcase, but had to wait on a bench until they finally let me in at 2:00 PM after I complained. The room smelled awful, like shrimp, and there was a man’s size 45 sock under the table. The cleaning clearly hadn’t been done properly. I could hear the neighbors’ doors opening and closing through the poor soundproofing, but the loud clicking from the air conditioner was what kept jolting me awake. I set an alarm for 8:00 and got up around 6:00 because of the noise. There were two glasses on the nightstand, but no bottle of water. The small fridge was empty, even though it was switched on. Breakfast had fried eggs, something like an omelet, cheese, croissants, a couple of cold cuts, watermelon, and cereal. There weren’t any vegetables, not even a tomato or cucumber slice, and the only coffee was filter coffee. The meal was disappointing, and the dining area had just four tables in a space of 5 square meters. For a place charging €170 per night during the season, it’s too expensive. When we left, nobody was at reception, so we left the key card and walked out without anyone even saying thank you.

Our room was clean and nice, and it felt safe, with easy Uber and taxi access. They can also arrange airport pickup, which was handy. Our flights were delayed so we arrived quite late, but two really sweet, accommodating people welcomed us, gave us advice, and were very kind. I’d stay here again.

The room was nice, but breakfast was a complete letdown. We stayed eight nights and never once got the breakfast shown in the pictures. You have to preorder from three menu choices, including one vegan option that costs an extra 5€. Vegetables came only twice, and that was three cucumber slices. Fruit was similarly sparse: just two bananas for several days, and on other days one watermelon slice per person. The place itself is generally nice, but breakfast takes away two stars.

A great base for exploring, with a lovely room, good breakfast, and lovely staff.
