Casa Beast

The location was great, and I was glad the bed was comfortable. The place was nicely decorated, but unfortunately it wasn’t a comfortable stay for us. I understand it’s a guest house rather than a hotel, but several things felt lacking. We weren’t given a duvet and had to ask for one on the second night. Getting inside was stressful too, since the entry code didn’t work and we were left outside in 32 degree heat until someone fixed it. They did let us check in early, though. The ceiling was very low and awkward to move around under. I’m average height, so I imagine others have had trouble with it too, and it felt a bit dangerous. The air con was in an awkward spot, so it took a while to cool the room. The TV was only useful if you signed into your own streaming account, which meant we could only watch YouTube. There was nowhere to leave our luggage, and with checkout at 10am, the morning was uncomfortable. They suggested a luggage storage place, but that felt like another let-down. Also, since it’s a guest house, there’s no cleaning service or rubbish bin change, which we found uncomfortable.

It’s a decent spot, though I wouldn’t call it great. Our room was small, and with its slanted ceiling I bumped my head a couple of times a day until I got used to it. Casa Beast is modern and clean, and it’s near the edge of the old town, so it’s easy to reach by car or get dropped off by taxi on the outskirts. The building uses self check-in, so there wasn’t much chance to judge the service beyond getting quick replies to a couple of questions when we arrived.

Dino always got back to us quickly whenever we contacted him. We loved the hotel and would highly recommend it. It’s in a great spot in the old town, with restaurants all around and places within walking distance. Inside, it’s clean and pretty, and the digital door lock meant we didn’t have to carry a key around.

We really loved our time here and would recommend it. The place feels very comfortable and is beautifully decorated, with a little touch of luxury. It’s right in the center of Split, just a short walk from the beaches of Marjan and plenty of good pubs and clubs.
