That tiny window was barely paperback-sized, and the room seemed to take on the sickly smell of overcooked meat from the restaurant right below. The furniture was shabby too. Getting in meant climbing crumbling stairs after passing through an alley that felt unsafe, then facing an entrance with a Soviet-era look. Hard to pick the worst part. The cute photos are misleading. Do better.

We found the place a little hard to locate, and only got our key after luckily running into one of the women cleaning there. It was very clean and quiet, and the air conditioning was great. The room was comfortable, close to the marina, and we'd definitely stay again when we're in Riva.

Getting back to the room during the day was convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was kept clean. The room felt a little cramped, though I imagine most places inside the city walls are small, and there are two flights of stairs to climb.

The location is excellent, right in the center of the old town, and the customer service was great. But after reading some Google reviews, I wondered if they were talking about the same place. We had room 003, which was smaller than a train sleeper, and this didn't feel like a luxury or boutique stay.

The location couldn't have been better. Even though it's central, we didn't hear any noise, and breakfast at the neighboring hotel was big and tasty, served in a beautiful square. There's also a 24-hour coffee station in the lobby. The hosts were lovely and helpful, and our small room was comfortable. Just note the hotel is on the second floor, up two flights of stairs, with no elevator. We stayed one night and wished we could have stayed longer. We'd absolutely come back.
