Hotel Puntijar

The hotel has a lot of historic paintings throughout, and people say there are over 1,000. It gives the place a castle-like feel. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help with anything. Rooms were spacious and very clean, and breakfast had plenty of choices. There's also a nice restaurant beside the hotel serving local food. It's near a metro connection to central Zagreb and right at the foot of the mountain. Take the metro two stops uphill, and there's a brand-new cable car to the top, with great views. The 5 km ride goes from 275 m to 1,030 m. If we return to Zagreb, we won't even look for another hotel.

The only thing I missed was an electric kettle for making tea. Otherwise, the beds were very nice, the bathroom was large, and breakfast was good. All the staff were fantastic, too. It's a cosy place that makes you feel like you've stepped into a distant past, with plenty of paintings offering glimpses of Zagreb's history. The location at the foot of the mountain is great for walks in nature, and the city is still within a reasonable walking distance. Highly recommended.

The antique style runs through the whole hotel, including the rooms, and there was lots of parking. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were lovely. A tram station less than a 10-minute walk away goes straight to the city centre, and a bus connects the hotel with the station. Highly recommended.

Rooms were very comfortable, with a large bathroom, and the breakfast was very good. Service was helpful and prompt. The hotel sits on the outskirts of Zagreb; it's relatively new, and the decor and furnishings reflect the excellent restaurant's history, which goes back to the 19th century. Highly recommended.
