Garden Apartment Hotel Split

The manager, or maybe the owner, was a great guy. When I explained I needed a fridge for my medication, he was extremely understanding. He was also sympathetic when my friend got sick after eating seafood at a dubious restaurant. The rooms were very nice, the WiFi worked well, and the TV was good. The location is phenomenal, right near downtown, and the price was about half what nearby hotels charged. I’d definitely stay here again.

When we arrived, they said our room was only for two, even though we’d booked a cottage listed with four beds for four people. After some discussion, he agreed to cancel. But once I’d left and called the booking agency, they said he hadn’t canceled and had told them he couldn’t give a refund. The rooms look more like a prison than a hotel. Unprofessional and dishonest. Avoid at all costs.

The location is very close to the old town, and the main guy running the place was kind enough to carry our very heavy bag. But the cottage was dark and dingy, with cobwebs and lots of mosquitoes inside. It was smaller than the photos led me to expect, and the air conditioner in the kitchen barely reached the bedroom. The towels felt like sandpaper. This place needs some care before it’s livable.

The location was great, within walking distance of the old town and palace, and about a 20-minute walk from the ferry and bus station. Check-in was smooth and the hotel was clean. The bathroom was nice, though the shower was typically small. There was a little kitchen with a fridge, but since we only stayed overnight, we didn’t need it. The bed was comfortable, while the pillows weren’t great, though I guess that’s personal preference.
