It’s a bit far from the city, though you can take a bus. In the room, there’s air conditioning and a large cabinet with a key, and you get a code to enter. The guy at reception was friendly and helpful, and you can borrow a hair dryer at the counter. The shower only runs for 15 seconds at a time, so you have to keep pressing the button. The kitchen has just one stovetop, which means waiting if someone else is cooking, but they have Netflix to watch. It’s a nice spot to hang out and relax.

After the last ferry from Hvar had left, a medical emergency meant we needed to get to Split. We had nowhere to stay, were scared in an unfamiliar city, and a taxi driver was hunting us down. At 1:30 in the morning, we called Hostel Elli as a last attempt to find somewhere to sleep. We were so grateful when the host answered. They were a lifesaver. We were very happy with our stay, from the late check-in to how quickly they prepared our rooms and how clean everything was. I can’t recommend this place enough.

It’s the cleanest hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The showers, beds, and shared kitchen were all so clean and comfortable, and the AC saved us after those long, hot summer days. It can be tricky to find at first, and it’s about a 35-minute walk to the city center. I’d highly recommend it if you want a hostel with a hotel-like feel.
