Driving up to this hotel was scary. It’s in a very sketchy neighborhood, and a whole wing was under partial demolition. The overall feeling was that guests were being treated like students in a hostel, or maybe it was being used as an “hourly hotel.” The furniture was low-quality, dormitory-style, and there was a full page of rules guests had to follow, which felt very strange. A few things were good: the rooms were fairly clean, the air conditioning worked well, and our rooms had roomy balconies facing the sea.

I stayed for just two nights, and they were superb. I love the old Yugo chic, and if the hotel were renovated, it would be a true gem and much more expensive. It’s in a good spot away from the chaos of Split, and free parking was available. The staff were among the friendliest I’ve encountered down the coast. The rooms are simple but clean, with AC. Breakfast was lovely, with a pretty wide selection: retro options like fried hot dogs and savory French toast, plus more current choices like different kinds of oatmeal, fruit, and yoghurt. I’d definitely come back. P.S. I didn’t check out the beaches or the other things the hotel had to offer.

The sea view is nice and the hotel looks okay, but it still has a 70s style, and some windows haven’t been replaced since then. The rooms look good, though a little plain. The whole hotel could be modernized to feel cleaner, more welcoming, and more current, and to be more automated and sustainable. A reflective roof could bounce sunlight back instead of absorbing it, lowering the roof’s surface temperature and reducing heat transfer into the building. That could also reduce the need for air conditioning, along with carbon footprints and energy bills. The parking lot could use new pavement too, and could be updated with better lighting and EV chargers.

The price was fair, and the hotel has a 70s feel in its decor. The town center is within walking distance down the hill. We took a taxi back because the walk up to the hotel would’ve been very difficult.

The rooms were clean and had air conditioning and local TV, and the sea view can be nice if you get the right side. But this place is so isolated that getting around depends on buses that are infrequent, run to no clear schedule, and sometimes don't show up at all. There’s barely anything nearby, just one little shop about a five minute walk away and a couple of average cafes, one of which may be closed for good. There’s no water, food, or drinks available at the hotel, and the rooms have only the basics. The place felt like something out of The Shining, and the breakfast was laughable. It may look inexpensive, but it wasn’t worth it. Two stars would be generous. You’ve been warned.
