La Perla Apartments

The location is good, but that's the only plus. The photos they advertise don't match the horrible room at all. There's no soundproofing, and it smells like sewage. Scam.

We paid in full for La Perla Luxury Apartments through Booking.com and arrived when planned, only to be told the reservation had been cancelled because they'd overbooked. The host wouldn't honor the booking and threatened to call the police unless we left the apartment right away. We were left stranded, and the refund is still being processed. I'd strongly advise against booking here.

The place was clean, cheap, and very central. Check-in and checkout both went smoothly, and the AC worked fine. It's small, but the bed is comfortable. The bathroom door is very shallow, which was the one inconvenience. I don't get all the other negative reviews.

The apartment was clean and in an excellent location, and we did get the apartment we wanted, so we were lucky not to be scammed. The rooms were pretty good, with modern facilities, but two things really brought the rating down. The owners apparently switch off the Wi-Fi at 10:00pm every night, and it doesn't return until around 8:00am. I don't know why. It cut off a WhatsApp call I was on, which was really weird. My room was at the top of the building. There was a big rectangular window right above the bed, and it was the only window without a blind or curtain. Unless you want the sunrise waking you at 4:00am, you have to improvise a cover. I wedged a towel and tea towel into the opened window to make one. Possibly the dumbest hotel design I've ever seen. 3 stars.
