Split Allure Apartments

The room was comfortable, and Split Allure apartment is well placed for getting around on foot. Diocletian Palace is about a 5-10 minute walk. We stayed for four nights in September and had a good time. Before check-in, the owner got in touch, met us at the apartment, and shared several recommendations for places to eat and visit.

For a short trip, the compact studio works well for two people, around two or three days. The prices and service were good, and there’s a safety vault in the room. It’s walkable from the bus station, with a pharmacy, supermarket, and several restaurants close by. Riva, the main harbour promenade, is also within walking distance. There’s no washing machine or dishwasher.

The manager was very helpful, and the rooms were comfortable in a good location. The view outside isn’t great, though it’s still nice enough. For stays of four days or longer, the apartment is supposed to be cleaned every other day. There’s a small kitchen but no dishwasher. The main drawback for me was the slow WiFi.

We arrived to find that the receptionist had put us in a dark ground-floor room with no window, even though we had booked a room with a balcony on bookingcom. When we objected, the explanation was that the upstairs room was prioritized for disabled guests. That made no sense to me, given the lack of an elevator and the narrow stairs. We were then told we could leave right away and find somewhere better, so we left. That was our first impression of Split. With so many tourists around, perhaps hotels feel they can treat visitors this way. I’m sharing what happened regardless of how many people care about a negative review. I’d give zero stars if that were possible.
