Split City Rooms

I booked the hotel in good faith, but the experience was extremely disappointing. After my reservation was canceled, they refused to refund me and ignored my efforts to sort it out. Emails and messages went unanswered, and no one seemed prepared to take responsibility.

The room is roomy and sits right at the edge of the old town, so it does the job. There are no windows, and you may or may not get maid service.

The hotel is close to everything in the centre, and check-in was smooth. The receptionists were very helpful, walking me through everything on their paper maps, including the airport shuttle. It's around a 15-minute walk to the shuttle stop, it costs €8, and the ride takes about 40 minutes. The map location is listed as “Bus station Split”. My room was decent for the price and had what I needed, but it wasn't clean. There was hair everywhere and a cigarette butt under the bed. The bed was hard, and my hip hurt when I woke up since I sleep on my side. The hotel should improve its cleaning, though it was okay for the price. The luggage room near reception wasn't locked, so I used a luggage storage service by the bus station instead.

Staff were helpful and spoke English well, and the elevator and small supermarket next door made everything easy. The hotel seems fairly new, with modern, clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Its location is excellent too, about a three-minute walk to Split Old Town and six minutes to the coast and the Split sign.
