Breakfast was simple but really good, especially the bread, which seemed freshly baked. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and pleasant, and it stayed comfortably warm in winter with radiators we could adjust ourselves. The price was reasonable, too. We could hear a lot from neighboring rooms, as though the walls were thin. Also, our room was up narrow stairs and wasn’t accessible for people with disabilities. It seemed that the hotel had no rooms adapted for guests with disabilities, which could be a significant limitation for some.

My students and I have now stayed at Maltar Pansion twice through the Erasmus program. Everyone was so friendly and ready to help, and the rooms were comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was amazing, and the location makes it easy to walk to every part of the city. Many thanks from all of us.

For 99€ we had two beds, a bathroom, TV, a large fridge, and a big wardrobe. The rooms were great for the price, and the whole stay felt well looked after. At check-in they welcomed us with delicious orange juice, and served it again at breakfast. We could choose what we wanted to eat, and it was all handmade with care. The food was awesome, with eggs, croissants, mađaricas, bread and more, all really tasty and good quality. It’s well located in the middle of Varaždin, near a Konzum, with big parking and a great entrance. At checkout, they even gave me a Pansion Maltar fridge magnet. I absolutely recommend it for 99€ per day for two people.

The people we met here were the kindest, friendliest, most smiling people of our trip through Mitteleuropa. The reception girl was helpful and pointed us to an excellent local restaurant. There’s ample parking in the backyard, and the rooms are clean and nice, with A/C. Breakfast was generous and made with quality food. The pension sits at the start of the pedestrian zone in the town centre, across from a supermarket. Absolute value for your money. If I could, I’d give it 10 stars. FANTASTIC.
