The rooms looked clean and nice, but the mattress and pillows weren’t comfortable. If you want to explore on foot, I’d choose somewhere nearer the city center. The staff were accommodating when we asked for a late checkout, but they weren’t around much. For example, when we ran out of toilet paper, nobody was there to refill it.

The staff were the best part of the hotel for us, so kind, helpful, and wonderfully friendly. That professional warmth was among the nicest we’ve experienced. The fitness room, though, was a real disappointment: one bike and a stair machine squeezed into the same five-square-metre room where massages take place. That felt like false advertising. And the mattresses were some of the worst we’ve slept on, extremely soft, dingy, and very low quality.

The owners of this family-run boutique hotel clearly care a lot about quality, and you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. The atmosphere and furnishings feel luxurious. Stefan is the cook and the heart of the place, with a smile and a Croatian-style joke always ready to make you feel like royalty. If you get the chance, try the day trip to local wineries with Kristina and enjoy what Istria has to offer.

A nightmare. The mattress was so soft and sagging that my husband and I couldn’t sleep or lie in a proper position. I ended up spending part of the night in the car and then on the balcony. I saw a previous comment from a year earlier describing the same problem. When I told the hotel staff honestly at 8 in the morning, they offered a discount on a future stay at a future Villa Oasiss hotel. I was exhausted and turned it down. What would be the point of spending more money at a hotel that failed at the basic purpose of letting us sleep and rest? I’ve never encountered that in my life. They made no offer to adjust the price or do anything else, not even breakfast or a coffee. It seemed like money was all that mattered to them. At checkout, the woman at the desk didn’t mention what had happened or even offer a slight apology. She just asked, “Cash or card?” A nightmare experience for 100 euros. Disappointing.
