Guest House Blue

We could barely move around the tiny room without bumping into the beds or kitchen counter. It smelled of mold when we entered, and the restroom smelled like urine. Closing the door didn’t keep the odor in there, it spread through the room. The shower holder was broken, the blankets were dirty and stained, and it was very loud at night. We couldn’t sleep and had to go to the beach to get a few hours of rest. WiFi, AC and the location were the only pros. Very unsatisfied.

The second night, after I requested it, we were moved to a triple studio, but it’s hard to say which studio was worse. There was a tiny, unsafe staircase up to the bed, and that bed had no bedding. The walls were dirty, the space was very small and uncomfortable, and the bar noise came through just as badly. I had such a terrible stay that it’s the worst experience I’ve had in all my years traveling the world, and I don’t recommend this place at all. The first studio was in a small three-floor building with narrow wooden stairs and wooden floors and ceilings that squeaked with every movement. The upstairs studio was occupied, so we heard every movement, even people turning in bed at night. A window beside one of the beds faced a streetlight. Its blinds did nothing to block the intense light, which lit up the room all night and couldn’t be switched off. There was also a bar just below, where people shouted and sang and the music went on until the early hours. The windows weren’t soundproof, so we heard the whole party. We tried to cancel through Booking.com customer service as soon as we realized what was happening on our first night, but the accommodation refused the cancellation. That left us unable to sleep.

The neighborhood was unfortunately very noisy. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and markets, restaurants and Kolovare beach are all within walking distance.

For a place so deep in the old town, it felt surprisingly modern. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was functional and the A/C worked. Great location for the price.
