The room was cramped and down in the basement, with a terrible smell. I couldn't sleep because of the odor, and then the mosquitoes kept me awake too. There was no parking nearby, despite my Booking reservation including a parking spot. This was the worst room I've ever stayed in.

The host was incredibly friendly and quick to respond, and the apartment was cozy, clean and well equipped. The comfortable bed and kitchen had what you'd need for either a short or longer stay. Its location near the bus station and city center made getting around easy. Major attractions, restaurants and shops were close by, and public transport was readily available. Great value for money, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone exploring Zagreb.

The renter offered a full refund and was genuinely sorry about the state of the apartment. Still, I've never stayed anywhere worse. I've even slept outside on a bench at -10c while waiting to catch a boat. We spotted a cockroach as soon as we entered, then found mold in the shower and elsewhere. There were spiders in the kitchen cupboards and bathroom, and the bathroom window opened onto street level. The sheets and towels smelled strongly of detergent. The walls had moisture damage, peeling paint and a bad smell.

The owner was super nice and accommodating, and the place was pleasant, cozy and clean. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. I recommend it!
