Hostel Arena

We liked the welcoming atmosphere, but our shower didn't work properly. The rooms are small and feel dated, with an old Yugoslav-era look. With some facility updates, Arena could be a decent budget place to stay in Zagreb.

If you're traveling by car and need parking, this is a budget option. Zagreb is 15-20 minutes away depending on traffic, and there's a Lidl and the arena stadium two minutes away by car. Staff were polite and helpful, and the hotel was reasonably clean; they seemed to be doing their best. Still, the place clearly needs renovation, and can feel a bit depressing because it's old. Breakfast was basic, but at least there was something to eat. It was okay overall.

The beds were okay and the rooms clean, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. But there's no elevator, the rooms have electrical problems, and charging a phone takes forever because the outlets are hard to reach.

A simple place to get some sleep. Clean and adequate, just don't expect a luxury hotel.
