You get a little taste of haiti here, and the local food is close by. The conditions are rustic, but I felt safer here than anywhere else in Haiti, and there are great people around to help you out.

Haiti Communitere, or HC as people usually call it, is our kind of place. It’s relaxed, safe, and has no frills. They also make the BEST Haitian coffee around here, Singing Rooster.

The grounds have gardens throughout, along with adobe-style buildings, shipping container rooms, and composting toilets. The HC staff are welcoming and laid-back, with a real go-with-the-flow feel. Locals are leading the way forward...

It’s a beautiful, peaceful place with welcoming hospitality, and everything is accessible for very little money. Hard to believe. The view is of a black gate. It’s in Clercine 4, Rue Pelican, across from Jedco.
