Hotel Jogar

On April 18, 2025, at around 00:30 a.m., we arrived at the hotel after a long, tiring journey in the rain and dark, with our small child. We had called about an hour earlier to ask if a room was available and were told to come. The night receptionist asked me to fill out the check-in form, and I said I'd return in a moment with my family and luggage. When he saw our seven-year-old daughter, he started yelling in front of her that children weren't allowed and that we had to leave because the room was for two people only. I explained that she'd sleep in our bed, and offered to pay the full extra-person rate, even double if needed. It was past midnight and we had nowhere else to go, but he aggressively insisted that we leave. Our daughter couldn't understand what was happening, and we didn't want to make the situation worse, so we left. Across the street we spotted another hotel with its lights on and asked if they could take us. A kind young man with excellent English said they had one room left, with a double bed, and asked if we were all right with our daughter sleeping between us. That's exactly what we'd planned. We're very grateful to Fönix Hotel and its wonderful staff for welcoming us so warmly and treating us with kindness and professionalism. We've traveled across half the world, and nothing like this has happened to us elsewhere. I hope it was one person's failure and not the hotel's general attitude, but after this experience I can't recommend the place.
