The room had both air conditioning and Wi-Fi, and the place worked well for our few days there. The hostess was nice, and the accommodation was adequate. It's about a 15-minute walk to Lake Balaton. For two people looking for an inexpensive place for a short stay, it could be a good option.

The house and its surroundings were clean, neat, and very nice, but the place wasn't quiet. The host was friendly until I questioned the price. After an email inquiry, their website directed me to a Booking link to reserve. When I paid in advance, I saw the Booking price was about 50% higher than the room rates on their own site. I asked whether the website price or the Booking price was supposed to apply. The host denied that the lower prices existed, even after I showed him the page. The lady called her son and said, “They have a problem here again,” then handed me the phone. The gentleman sounded rather unfriendly when he asked what the problem was, and continued to insist there was no such price after I explained it again. The page was taken down a few days later, but it was still Google's second result: “Our prices - Balatonfüred - • Zsuzsa Panzió • Balatonfüred | Room bookings in ... (wwwPONTzsuzsapanzioPONThuPERhu_arakPONTphp).” The accommodation was listed among OTP Nesz acceptance points, and apparently they were supposed to take a Nesz card. That was one of the main reasons we chose it, but the payment didn't work. The card issuer couldn't see any transactions, even though we used the card almost everywhere over the following days. The room got very hot in the afternoon and had no air conditioning. We didn't ask for a fan either. We canceled breakfast from the second day onward, and the lady was very accommodating about that. It was surprisingly easy. I hope this experience is useful to both sides.

The place was clean and tidy, and the house looked lovely, just like the photos. We could park on the street in front. The lady who runs it was kind when she showed us to her office to pay for our five nights. But when she took us up to Room 3, we found it had no balcony, even though I'd written in the booking that we wanted one. We put our leather goods inside and initially thought it might be all right since we'd seen the garden and terrace downstairs, and breakfast was provided. We assumed the terrace opened off the breakfast room. When we went out for some fresh air and a drink, we found out the garden and terrace were part of the host's private home. There was nowhere for us to sit outside unless we went out to the street. That was when we decided we didn't want to ask for anything else. The lady wasn't so kind anymore and kept apologizing, saying she lived there and that this had never happened in 20 years. She told us to contact Booking.com, which didn't seem like a solution to our problem. Her son Gábor also said they hadn't promised us anything. I kept wondering why the photos showed the garden and terrace if guests couldn't use them. They weren't very good at solving the issue, but after the lady called Gábor again and we made it clear we weren't willing to just accept things and stay, we reached a compromise after a longer talk. We stayed one night and left the next morning. They refunded the remaining amount, though they did charge a surcharge. I wouldn't recommend this accommodation. And that's before even getting to the 1000 HUF per day charge for air conditioning.

The rooms are pleasant and seem to have been built just a few years ago, which is about what you'd expect for a summer beach holiday. There is street parking. The beach isn't far, though we always drove there even though it could have been a nice walk. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on it. I've stayed for longer stretches in many places, from Los Angeles to Seoul, but be ready for the air conditioning to cost 1000 HUF per night in 2018! I recommend the place to everyone.
