We stayed six days with the whole family and really enjoyed it. The rooms were clean, and when we locked ourselves out, the receptionist was very sweet. He waited kindly to make sure we found the key in the room. The bar restaurant was lovely, with really good food. We had a nice chat with one of the waiters about Hungary, food, the weather, and how pleasant our stay was. They’d just renovated the whole place. Breakfast was very good too, though a little more fruit would have been nice. ❤️

Welcome to the 80s, though not in a fun retro way. Any refurbishment seems to have happened decades ago. Everything is worn out, overused, and dirty. Even the older cleaner apologized for the condition. She said it was fully booked anyway, mainly by Roman gypsies, so management wasn’t investing a single eurocent. Sad to see standards this low.

The rooms are modern and fully equipped, but the cleaning could be much better. There was a lot of sand on both the chairs and the floor.

It’s hard to recommend the hotel on its own. It’s old and not very clean, and without the event, its main advantage is the absolutely perfect location, very close to the excellent beach on Balaton. Goldance put on insane programmes, though, and for those I’d give five stars. The hotel deserves the two stars it has, in the bad sense. Still, recommended.
