The rooms are simple but roomy, and the garden is beautiful. The owner is very kind and helpful. A very accommodating place.

A smelly, dirty little hole at hotel prices. Service is beyond criticism. In the 21st century there's no fridge, and the only decoration is the “kitchen,” a shed that looks as if it was last cleaned and painted the day it was built. The big garden might get a smile out of you, and you can grill if you bring absolutely everything. The shower is an adventure: its door is 20 cm narrower than the opening, so water immediately gets the already dirty room wet. Even the bed linen has a musty smell, which just adds to the stale odor. For this money you get a fourth-class workers' hostel instead of a hotel. At least the tablet-sized TV with 3 channels may cheer you up.

The shared kitchen, paper-thin walls and filth made us decide right away not to unpack at Peter’s KoszNeszt. When we canceled, even the owner was outraged. The price didn't match what we got, and the beach was very far away, despite what had been promised. Reaching it would have been a little adventure each time. The owner measured the distance as the crow flies, but we travel by car! The best choice was to leave and find another place immediately. For the same price we got a “suite,” just 5 meters from the beach, and were much, much better off.

We're going back in a heartbeat! I stayed at Kata's with my daughter last year. It's right on Lake Balaton, clean, family-run, lovely and affordable, with excellent transport links. Absolutely worth supporting!
