Alice Hotel

We arrived around midnight, well after the kitchen had closed, and weren’t expecting food. Still, the staff had left a three-course dinner and drinks in our room. That was lovely hospitality. The hotel was spotless and well kept, among the cleanest we’ve stayed in. The food was great, so I’d recommend the half-board option. It’s right by the subway and also next to the city’s main boulevard, Andrássy út, which is nice if you like walking. Congratulations to the staff on a great place.

We slept well in our cozy room during the three nights here. The staff were helpful, breakfast was excellent, and the tram stop is just a block away. It’s a nice neighborhood for a walk.

Alice Hotel feels like staying in a chic friend’s mansion 🤧 I arrived sick, but after resting well and having breakfast outside in the sun, I felt better each day. The place has even given me ideas for my future home. I’m almost sorry to leave. Thank you, Alice Hotel 🩷🫶

The air conditioning made our four-night stay uncomfortable. Every night it switched from cooling to heating on its own, and we’d wake up sweating around 3 AM. The front desk insisted nothing was wrong and spoke to us in a patronising way. She also seemed to be making it personal. A manager later said the system was being adjusted for the season and moved us to another room, but the same thing kept happening. When we raised the staff member’s rudeness, he showed no interest in dealing with it. The room also didn’t look like the pictures on the hotel website or booking platform. We were told that was normal for the property. It was clean overall, but there were visible hairs on the sheets and pillows, a minor issue compared with the rest. The staff we dealt with were barely polite, and the repeated night-time discomfort and disrespectful service ruined our holiday. We wouldn’t stay again.
