Big Fish Hostel

Big fish hostel was my first time staying in a hostel, and I honestly had some of my best times there. It's a great choice whether you're travelling solo and hoping to meet people, or coming with others. The staff were great and accommodating. 10/10, I'd recommend it.

My friend and I stayed for two nights just after it reopened in July 2022, and it was the best hostel I've stayed at so far. The rooms have really distinctive designs, and the place feels like one huge apartment for like-minded travellers. Its size gives it a familiar feel, and meeting people is easy, especially in the large, well-organised kitchen where everyone can sit, chat, cook and eat together. After a whole night out clubbing, we played cards with our new friends at 4 am. I won't forget that stay.

The facilities were clean, and there was space for everyone to have privacy. The staff were really nice, and the kitchen was a good place to meet travellers from different countries. I definitely recommend it.

My first solo trip got off to a warm start thanks to the Gang at Big Fish Hostel Budapest. The team made me feel welcome right away and were always friendly and hospitable. They fed me on my first evening, and I got to try some amazing Korean pancakes. We also did fun activities like painting, and they showed me around the palace and castle. They had plenty of suggestions for sights, things to do and food. A huge thank you to Diego, Anna, Diana, Fin, Bianca, Nam and the other team members, sorry I can't remember all the names. I arrived as a stranger and left as a friend. Great vibes, a very friendly atmosphere and a good location. A must-stay for any traveller. Much love, Tommy x
