Simple place, but the rooms were warm, clean, and tidy. The bathrooms were new. Great for the price.

I only stayed in transit, arriving late afternoon and leaving around 8am, so I didn't raise it with the owner. The room had a horrible smell that seemed to emerge after I'd been there about an hour. Maybe it was a pet-friendly room where a pet had peed on the carpet, and housekeeping hadn't sanitized or cleaned that spot. I was too tired to ask for another room, so I hid under the sheet and slept. We paid in full, and I hope they improve the cleanliness so guests can sleep comfortably.

Our room was really large, clean, and spacious, and we could park our car safely in the paid parking on site. My husband and I love this hotel because it's right in central Budapest, within walking distance of sights, cafes, and restaurants. Some staff spoke only a little English, but we managed without any problems. Breakfast isn't offered, which was the one downside. That was easy to work around since there are plenty of nearby places where you can have breakfast.

For a weekend in Budapest, this guest house worked great. It's near downtown, and for what we paid, the quiet room with its own bathroom was clean enough. The value for money is very good, though this isn't a five-star hotel. The reception hours are limited and it usually closes at 5pm, which can make arriving late a bit troublesome.
