The hotel is clean, although the carpet needs replacing, and I believe each room has its own bathroom. Breakfast is free and exceptional. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke fluent English. Many Castle Hill attractions are right across the street.

The room was small. Even for two people, there was really only enough comfortable space for one person with a large suitcase, so pack accordingly if you’re sharing. I did see one cockroach on the floor on my way to the restroom, but there were no further incidents, and reception dealt with it right away. The hotel is inexpensive and extremely well placed for getting around. It’s at the center of many attractions, just steps from the Matthaiss cathedral and Fisherman's Bastion, with views over the heart of the city and easy walking access to both the Pest and Buda sides.

The dated rooms and rather thin mattress were balanced out by the helpful, friendly, knowledgeable staff, the excellent free breakfast spread, the bedroom views, and what I’d call the best location in Budapest. A great budget stay, and highly recommended for the price.

The staff were so helpful and informative, and the room was clean and ready for us. We had an amazing time in Budapest, and the view was unbelievable. The Burg hotel is in the Budapest center, with great shops and bars just a short walk away. I accidentally left my mobile phone charger in the room, and they sent it back to me by post the next day for FREE. It’s one of the friendliest places we’ve ever stayed, and I highly recommend it.
