City Hostel Corvin

The street outside was pretty calm, and the metro and tram are a 10-minute walk away. Parking costs 15€ a night, though street parking is free on weekends. Smoking isn’t allowed inside. We paid 30€ for the night for three of us, including me, so it was alright for the price. The room had dusty floors, dirty sheets, a clogged faucet, and a shelf that was barely fixed in place. Only one window could be opened, and the kitchen had a working fridge. The bathroom and toilet, which had a roll of paper, were each across the kitchen. There’s no AC, it felt like there might be mosquitoes, and extras such as soap or a fan cost extra.

The rooms were awful, really hot, and had neither AC nor fans. You can rent a fan for 3€ a day, but it doesn’t help much. The bathroom was dirty and had cockroaches, and there were no toiletries. I’d rule this place out completely.

The reception service was a joke. The man didn’t seem to know anything and didn’t want to help. The kitchen had no equipment, and the only dishes you could borrow were dirty, with no way to wash them. We had to heat water in a pan because there wasn’t even a pot. It was unbearably hot in the room, like a sauna. The rentable fans barely helped, and there was just one small window to open. The bathroom was filthy, with fungus in the shower, and there was no soap or towels. Worst hostel I’ve ever been to. I advise against staying here.

We had a large room for three, with its own bathroom, toilet, and little kitchen. There was no soap. It was pretty hot during our visit to Budapest, and there was no AC. Fans were available to rent for €2 a day, though I doubt one would help much.
