The staff were the only alright part, they were nice. We left first thing in the morning because the place was unbearable. It’s not a hostel all year, just during summer, and a bad one at that. It looked like boarding school furniture had been shoved into rooms at random without being secured, and a bookcase nearly fell on me. The room was old, dirty, noisy, and the beds were terrible. The website photos were a lie. Things were falling apart around us: the hand-washing knob came off, the bunk bed looked ready to collapse, and the curtain rail literally broke. There was still rubbish in the bin from the previous guests. The whole floor had only two women’s toilets, one women’s shower, and one men’s shower, despite all the people staying there. The lift looked unsafe, so we had to carry our backpacks up to the third floor. That’s not terrible by itself, but it was disappointing after being promised a lift and travelling 14 hours to get there. The supposed kitchen was terrible. We also felt unsafe because groups of smokers stood right by the entrance and wouldn’t move. You couldn’t get in immediately because someone had to buzz you in. Payment was cash only, and they charged us much more by calculating it differently from the website price. Please don’t visit.
