Breakfast was awful, with cheap, poor-quality food, very few choices, and no freshness or effort. It felt like a prison cafeteria. The room was disgusting too: old, torn blankets full of holes, and a TV so outdated it was basically unusable. The reception staff were rude, arrogant, and unprofessional from the start, with no welcome or respect and a hostile attitude toward guests. This place isn’t worth the money. If basic comfort, cleanliness, and human respect matter to you, avoid it. Budapest has much better options.

The room had no working safe, even though a notice said the hotel wasn’t responsible for money or valuables. That felt like the hotel was disclaiming responsibility without offering even basic protection. Staff also took my personal belongings, plastic bottles that were in a bag, which was unacceptable and felt like theft. There were no “Do Not Disturb” signs, so I had no basic sense of privacy or safety. The room had no proper ventilation and the air was stale, making it hard to stay in for long. I could clearly hear every word, step, and noise from the corridor and neighboring rooms. Linoleum was glued to the shower floor, and water wouldn’t drain, overflowing onto the bathroom floor. That was unsanitary and a direct injury risk. The claimed “3 stars” don’t match reality. I couldn’t feel safe under these conditions.

I felt uncomfortable and ripped off. For the money we paid, this is high on my list of places I won’t visit again. The included breakfast was a mess. The orange juice, if you can call it that, tasted like powder mixed with water, and the coffee was nearly terrible.

The room was cozy and seemed clean, so I can’t really complain about that. Getting around meant using public transport, which I’d recommend if you’re on a budget. It’s not a very walkable city for sightseeing, and it was cold. The included breakfast was so bad I didn’t want to eat it, though I was trying to save money. I’m not sure if it was typical Hungarian food, but it looked scary, the meats seemed sketchy, and the smell from some other guests made me lose my appetite right away. Normal staff were nice at check-in, but there didn’t seem to be much security, and the people at the front desk didn’t pay much attention, especially overnight. I think the overnight receptionist may have been sleeping on the floor, and he was quite rude after we checked out. His attitude and the breakfast were the worst parts.

The floor was so filthy I couldn’t walk barefoot and had to buy slippers. The room itself was dirty and in very poor shape, with an unclean, bad-smelling bathroom and a completely blocked shower drain. Water pooled and overflowed onto the bathroom floor. The door felt unsafe and looked like a cheap bathroom door. Breakfast was terrible: the eggs smelled strongly unpleasant, there was only one kind each of cheese, eggs, and cold cuts, and I even found an ant on my plate the first day. Service was awful too, with only two towels for five nights. When I asked for cleaning after complaining, they left the room even dirtier and didn’t vacuum the dust. One of my worst hotel experiences.
