The location is excellent, especially if you need the airport bus at Deák tér, and the 24-hour reception is handy for a night flight. For the price, this hostel is fine. The bunks are okay, and the showers and toilets are fine too. They clean once a day, so of course things won't stay spotless all the time. I've stayed in other Budapest hostels with much worse beds and dirtier showers, so I don't understand the negative reviews.

Not somewhere to go for comfort. The beds are so hard they feel like sleeping on the floor, and the hostel is pretty dirty, though it's cheap. The reception is the best part. It's about a 30-minute walk to downtown, or 5-10 minutes by bus, though the bus takes a while to come. There's a 24/7 store right on the corner.

The staff are friendly and the location is good, but the rooms and bathrooms aren't much to write home about. Our four-bed room was small and dark. There was just one toilet for the ground floor, and the bathroom only had a curtain. I'd only choose this if my budget were really stretched.

For a weekend in the city it was a bit noisy, though that's common everywhere around town. I stayed one night and found the place decent overall: clean rooms, metal lockers and beds, which you don't see in most hostels, nice staff, and a convenient stay. The problem was a sewage smell right beside my bed in the eight-bed dorm. I only noticed it after waking up in the middle of the night. The pipe was right next to me, so I covered it with my bedsheet to cut down the smell. In my view, covering that pipe would make the room a lot better.
