Grand Richter Hotel

It was humid and noisy in the room, with almost no heating, so staying there was uncomfortable. I was charged a cleaning fee for the stay and a linen package fee each night, but neither seemed to come with the service I expected. The bathroom wasn’t clean, and showering was frustrating and inconvenient. I’d strongly suggest finding somewhere better, even for just one night.

The staff were friendly and useful with suggestions for places to visit, and they answered our questions. Our room worked well for a couple and was generally comfortable. We stayed three days, and for what we paid, the hotel was decent, though some things bothered us. Traffic from the nearby road made the room a little noisy, and the bathroom wasn’t very clean. The heater wasn’t on, but we didn’t ask staff about it since the temperature in the room was manageable for us.

I didn’t mind the room’s appearance since it cost less than other options. What I did mind was the cold, because there was no heating. The entrance gate stayed locked and only reception could open it, so when nobody was there, I had to wait outside. That got annoying. The receptionist kept asking what I wanted, even though I’d been staying there for two days. I already had a room there.

Reception was the best part of my stay at Hotel Richter. The staff were friendly, communicated well, and were available when I had questions or needed help. The rooms, though, felt old and due for renovation. They weren’t especially clean, and the strong smell of cleaning products wasn’t pleasant. It seemed they were trying to keep things clean, but the dated decor and lack of thorough cleaning still affected the stay. Parking also cost 10 euros per night, which seemed expensive compared with other cities and hard to justify for the service offered. They should update the rooms, improve cleaning, and reconsider the parking price.
