After hours of sightseeing in fabulous Budapest, we really appreciated a restful, peaceful stay close to the city. We’re two tired, jet-lagged Canadians, and had chosen Grand Slam Park on relatives’ advice. The rooms were plain, the beds were comfortable, and we could look out over the neatly kept grounds. It was quiet apart from the occasional tennis ball being hit over. Breakfast offered either a traditional continental selection or a hot American-style plate. In the evenings, the restaurant also serves tasty pub-style meals.

We stopped for lunch on our way back from Memento Park and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was very relaxed, the service polite and casual, and the pizza was great, though there are other menu choices too. There’s an English menu. If you’re driving, GPS may send you to the wrong entrance. Approach from Bódog ut.

The setting has a lovely green, almost village-like feel, even though the big city is nearby. The Italian food is really good quality, and the service is nice too.

The room was spotless and pleasant, and the staff were kind and helpful. I felt comfortable there. The one downside was how much noise carried from other rooms, whether people were talking or walking around.

The place has an unusual look, built from solid wood, and the staff are very friendly. The rooms are under the roof on the first floor, though, so in summer you need to run the AC for a couple of hours before going in.
