Hello Hostel

I hate having to say this, but this was the worst stay I've ever had anywhere, whether in a hostel, hotel, or Airbnb. The photos on different sites don't show what the hostel looks like these days, and I left feeling uneasy about the place. There were only two toilets for more than 28 people, including staff. The common areas were dirty, the bins were full and left uncleared, and the kitchen was dirty. Of four sinks, three drained very slowly. There were three showers, but one was marked out of order even though staff were showering in it. Another shower door wouldn't lock, and the bottom of the curtain in the remaining one had awful mold. Towels cost extra, even hand towels weren't provided, and the washer and dryer also came with a fee. The night staff woman argued with us that my girlfriend, who is of colour, couldn't stay there. After we argued back and forth, she let us stay, but gave us one top bunk instead of the two beds we'd booked in advance. I'm 6'6 and my girlfriend is 5'11. The bed wasn't made either. She tossed the sheet up there for us to put on ourselves, and there was just one garbage pillow for the two of us. The night staff didn't speak English. There was a loud fight between guests in the middle of the night that went on for 20 to 30 minutes, with lots of swearing. A guy in our room told us his clothes had been stolen the night before. The lock bib the hostel gave us was broken, so we didn't feel comfortable leaving our stuff in there. WiFi only worked in the main lobby, not in the rooms. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable, and there was an odd, creepy man staying there who made even me, a big guy, feel uneasy. It didn't reflect well on the hostel. The listing said breakfast would be provided in the morning, but there wasn't any. All in all, my time there was a F.
