Honest Budapest by Chic & Basic

Getting around was easy: the hotel was simple to find, close to transport, and many attractions were walkable. The staff were lovely and helpful. Our modern, clean room had a comfortable bed, plus a mini fridge and coffee machine, which came in handy. My only complaint was the heat. Even with the thermostat turned all the way down, the room stayed hot, though opening the window helped.

The only uncomfortable bit was that the lobby felt quite warm. Our room stayed clean and smelled nice, and the staff were so kind and friendly. We also got our departure dates wrong, but they handled it really well and left our things in the room. We had an amazing stay at the Honest.

The rooms were modern, well looked after, and everything worked as described. The staff were always happy to help. One of them even used his app to order us a pizza when our UK phone number wouldn’t work for ordering. They looked after us so well. The hotel is close enough to walk to both the party areas and the cultural sights. I’d definitely recommend it when visiting Budapest.

I was exhausted and upset when I arrived close to midnight, after a disaster with an online booking at another hotel. The welcoming night staff made check-in quick, and the lobby’s modern design helped me feel better straight away. The room wasn’t large, but the king bed, nightstands, little table, chair and ottoman made good use of the space. It had everything I needed, including a Nespresso set and machine, a magnifying bathroom mirror, extra hooks and a large safe. The glass wall, tile and wall colors, and lighting made it feel cozy and relaxing, and I woke up rested. I also appreciated the wooden floor, since I’m allergic to laminate and carpets. Breakfast was the typical European spread, with eggs, omelette, sausages, cheese and ham. The breakfast staff were efficient and helpful. I’d come back and recommend the hotel to friends.
