Hostel Budapest Center

The room was spacious, but the bathroom and kitchen weren't very clean. Check-in was a much bigger problem. My friend was due to arrive at 1:30 am while I was out. We'd told the hostel beforehand and were assured it would be fine, but she was left outside for nearly half an hour. A guest who happened to be heading to bed was the only reason she got in. With no receptionist there, nobody had arranged for her arrival, and she ended up sleeping in a random room. Reception doesn't open until 8 am, which is a problem if you have an early flight and need to leave around 6 or 7. My stay was only okay, and I wouldn't return.

A pretty average hostel. Our room was small but had a nice feel, with an upper floor where we slept and a lower area for our things and making tea. The staff were fairly helpful, and the hostel was fairly clean.

The staff were really friendly, and the rooms were clean and had all the basics. The shower hose holder was broken, though, so we had to prop it up with tape or a plastic bag or it kept falling every couple of minutes. The towels were worn out too. It's a small, average hostel, but the location is good and the price is about right for what you get.

You can walk to plenty of bars and places to eat from here, and the location is great. We paid about 12€ per person per night for a room with 7 beds. The beds were okay but squeaked, the bathroom was dirty, and the drain was blocked. There wasn't any coffee in the morning. Before we arrived, the receptionist had been patient and attentive, but when we got there we became stuck in the elevator and nobody seemed particularly concerned. Then on our second night we had to switch rooms because another group had booked ours.
