Hotel Palota

The daytime reception service was good, but at night I could hear someone snoring in the next room. Wi-Fi showed a full signal, yet there was no internet. The windows and corners had cobwebs and spiders, and only one of the three lights worked. We couldn’t get food at the restaurant, which was supposed to be open until 10 pm. At 8 pm they wouldn’t take card payment, even though there was a terminal, and they didn’t make anything to eat. The reception was advertised as open 24 hours, but nobody was there in the early morning when we went to check out.

The bathroom was terrible, with a horrible smell. The room we stayed in was filthy, old, and broken. I paid 250€ for two nights and was so frustrated that I had to walk around in socks because the floor was that dirty. Just very, very sad. Making money like that... 🤷⬇️⬇️ ☢️ 😰

The staff were kind, but the Wi-Fi didn’t work, and this is only somewhere I’d use for a short stay. The rooms could use better pillows and cleaning, plus some air freshener in the toilet. I’d also want smoke-free rooms.

Getting to the inner city by tram or metro is easy, and it’s a really nice place to stay. The room was the perfect size, though a bit dirty.
