Interflat Hostel Apartments

The location is very good, and the staff were polite, but the place has a lot of potential to improve. The bathrooms were too small, the shower was awful, the mattress was old, and the sheets had stains that looked like blood drops. I've stayed in cheaper hostels that were better. I didn't need any help to judge those things.

For the price, it was worth it. This is a cheap hostel near the parliament, the train station, and most attractions, and the hosts are very nice. They charge to store your things during the day after you've checked out, and towels cost extra too. The cleaning could be better, though it wasn't bad.

The biggest letdown was the bathrooms. With three toilets and four showers, they were generally pretty filthy, water got everywhere and guests had to mop it up, the shower heads wouldn't stay put, and the temperature could swing from burning hot to freezing. One toilet seat was coming loose. WiFi was available, but it only really worked early in the morning; once everyone connected, nothing would load. Still, Interflat Hostel & Apartments has plenty of useful features for the price: a 24-hour desk to buzz you in, a convenient location by a bus station and metro, open, well-ventilated rooms, and lockers, including paid luggage storage after checkout. Paid laundry is handled for you, and there's a kitchen with a stove, oven, and fridge. The rooms don't offer much privacy, though.

The reception is open 24 hours, and they let you leave your bags safely if you arrive before check-in. It's cheap and clean, with great beds, a common room, and a spot close to the city centre. One of the best hostels in Budapest, hands down. The best service I've had at any hostel so far, their employees deserve a prize.
