Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest

The thoughtful service started before our trip, with an email asking which side of the building, floor, and pillows we preferred. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a roomy, luxurious suite with the Ferris wheel view we’d asked for. Staff were attentive and cheerful throughout, and the little details felt carefully considered. The hotel is right in the city center, with services close by. There’s a spa, gym, and pool, plus a lively bar with a DJ and live singers at night. We had a fantastic stay, and I’d recommend it without hesitation.

Breakfast was a real treat, with plenty of choice and very good quality. The hotel also has several strong restaurants, including Nobu, where both the food and service are at a high level. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed, while room service was fast, professional, and consistently good. The lobby and shared spaces look elegant and are maintained to an unusually high standard. It costs more than nearby hotels, but the location, comfort, and service made it worth every dollar for me. Most major sights are an easy walk from the city-center location, and this is one of the hotels I’ve enjoyed most.

The staff were so kind and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. I loved that the hotel felt luxurious but still comfortable, and it was very clean. The food was fresh and delicious, too. Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest is right in the center, within walking distance of lots of attractions. I had a wonderful stay and would happily come back.

The hotel’s central location made it convenient for short walks around the city, and it gives a decent first impression. But several things fell short of what I expect from a 5-star Kempinski. I booked a room with a view and got one facing a wall instead of Fashion Street. The room was clean, though the small shampoo bottles in the shower felt dated and more like something at a 3-star property. The building also shows its age, with a lack of attention to detail. Breakfast was a letdown. The food was acceptable, nothing special, and the coffee service was inefficient and disorganized. This was my second visit. My first stay was average, and the service had declined further this time. When I shared feedback, the staff gave a polite apology but offered no solution or goodwill gesture. I was paying EUR 250-350 a night, and there are much better 5-star options in Budapest at that price. Given the service and value, I won’t return and will choose another property next time.
