Kimpton BEM Budapest by IHG

We came on a friend’s recommendation, even though we were on the other side of Budapest, and it was absolutely worth the trip. Everything was kept to a really high standard, right down to the details. The restaurant was simply perfect, with top-quality dishes that kept making us want to order more. The staff were patient, kind, and attentive. We first sat at the wine bar, where everything was delicious and super clean, and the team were incredibly friendly. Later we relaxed at the bar with great music before heading to the restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the place looked stylish and well cared for. I honestly hope this restaurant keeps thriving. It felt like pure magic, and I highly recommend it.

The breakfast buffet and dinner were the best meals we had in Budapest. Our room was well appointed and easy to settle into, and the hotel staff were some of the best we’ve met, friendly and helpful all around. We wanted to stay on the Buda side, and getting to the tram or subway was very convenient. There was a clear view of the Danunbe, and we only had to walk across the street for a full view of the Parliament Building. A very well deserved 5 star throughout. This is a relatively new hotel.

The restaurant team deserve a special mention: Shada, Diana, Zoltan and Kristian were consistently professional and friendly. The cleaning staff were brilliant as well. My wife and I stayed four nights in February, and from check-in the receptionist was warm, helpful, and welcoming. In our view, the service throughout the Kimpton Hotel was exceptionally high. It’s a great hotel in a great city. Thanks again to everyone there.

The bathroom layout was the one awkward part: the toilet and shower are separate, but there’s no door to close off that area, which isn’t ideal when sharing with friends. The room itself is lovely, with green tiles, fluted millwork, a balcony, and a handy vanity. The Balmain products smelled divine. At check-in we were offered champagne, and Flora answered all our questions. We ate at the restaurant on our first night after arriving late, and enjoyed the ceviche, mozzarella with focaccia, croquettes, and prosecco. The breakfast buffet each morning had enough choices for me, and the rooftop bar had a great vibe. We also had a drink in the lobby bar. Everyone we met was kind, and the service was impeccable. I’d highly recommend it.
