Lavender Circus Apartments

The apartment's brick, vaulted walls and ceilings gave it a lot of charm and made it remarkably quiet. It's an inventive modernization of an older building, with today's amenities. The layout is essentially a studio: the loft upstairs has a queen, full, or double mattress on the carpeted floor. Downstairs there's a galley kitchen, breakfast bar, desk and chair, and a three-person sofa. Our housekeeper was thorough and knew my name before we checked in. She let us leave our luggage in the apartment while the cleaning was still underway, so we went out to explore Budapest. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The shower has no door or curtain, and its head has no holder, so it hangs over the spigot. It's an unusual setup, but it conserves water since you have to turn it off to use both hands while showering. Someone in another apartment accidentally locked the shared gate, so we couldn't get out. Management fixed it right away, and by their account it had happened twice that night. It was resolved in under 45 minutes, with excellent customer service. We could honestly live in a place like this. It was spacious, efficient, ergonomic, and great value. Highly recommend, 10/10! -J

The apartment had lovely details, was clean everywhere, and had a beautiful view. It was close to the center too. The kitchenette had only a little equipment. We had a wonderful stay, thank you, and see you next year! 🩷🫶

In apartment 2, the beds and bedding were poor, as were the shower and towels. The towels had clearly seen better days. The lighting was bad, and there were no power outlets near the bed. The fridge wasn't plugged in, so I assume it was faulty. The bed area had a two-metre drop if you rolled out, no handrail on the stairs, and such a low ceiling that you had to crawl into bed. The soundproofing was poor too, and we could clearly hear the neighbouring apartments.

For the price, this is a good-value place to stay. The location is very central, the apartment is nicely decorated, and there are two small desks if you need to work, though neither is especially comfortable. The toilet has a slight smell, but there's ventilation to help. The bed sheets and pillowcases felt heavily used and weren't soft, so I think the owners should replace them from time to time. The payment setup felt a little odd too: you put cash in an envelope and leave it in the mailbox, which didn't feel safe or comfortable.
