The central location was the one good thing. After a tiring journey, we arrived in the evening to find the room still uncleaned, even though we were later than expected, and had to get in touch with the owner. There weren’t enough towels or any toilet paper. The room itself was large and modern, so it wasn’t bad, but the building, while nice outside, felt dark and run-down indoors. WiFi was there, but it didn’t work.
The location was the only positive. The sheets and pillows smelled musty and were stained, there was very little toilet paper and no kitchen towels, and the shower clogged easily. The bed was rock hard. We also found dirty dishes in the oven, the washing machine didn’t work, and the sofa was broken and uncomfortable. Getting the TV to work took a long time because it was out of order. Very poor quality for the price.
I liked the tavern. They have a Russian menu, and the main dishes come in large portions that look good and are filling, so there’s no need to order a salad. Prices start at 10 euros. It’s tasty, clean, convenient, filling, and relatively inexpensive.
Those lovely townhouses, with several apartments in them, are what make this place special. The apartment itself is pretty basic and could have been cleaned better, but the location is great for a few days of sightseeing.
We found the apartment on rue Marcius well placed for getting around, but the noise from traffic and ambulances was a lot. It was also dirty and not very clean, with a kettle that didn’t work, very thin duvets, and strong bathroom ventilation.
